Rwanda: «je vais continuer ma lutte», dit Victoire Ingabire à RFI

Au Rwanda, Victoire Ingabire, est sortie de prison, ce samedi 15 septembre, dans le cadre de la libération anticipée de plus de 2 000 prisonniers décidée, vendredi, par le président Paul Kagame. Le chanteur Kizito Mihigo est également libre, selon des membres de sa famille contactés par RFI. Tous deux avaient été condamnés à de lourdes peines de prison. Dans la foulée de sa libération, Victoire Ingabire a accepté de s'exprimer sur RFI.

« Je suis surprise et contente, parce que je ne m'y attendais pas, nous explique Victoire Ingabire. C'est beaucoup d'émotion. Cela m'a beaucoup surprise mais j'espère que c'est le début de l'ouverture de l'espace politique au Rwanda, vu qu'il y a quelques semaines, le parti des Verts a été accepté au Parlement. Tout d'un coup on me libère et donc cela m'a donné l'espoir quand même. Au moins le gouvernement aujourd'hui a accepté de faire l'ouverture. Je ne suis pas encore hostile, donc je vais attendre pour voir ».

RFI: Donc cela veut dire que vous n'avez pas l'intention d'arrêter vos activités politiques ?

« Non, non… il n'y a pas de raison d'arrêter mes activités politiques, parce que je suis rentrée dans mon pays avec l'objectif de lutter pour l'ouverture de l'espace politique au Rwanda. J'ai été en prison, pour moi la prison c'était [un] passage... et je vais continuer ma lutte ».

RFI: neuf de vos camarades, dont votre premier vice-président, sont détenus depuis maintenant un an.

« C'est la raison pour laquelle, justement, je dois continuer à me battre pour la libération de mes compagnons qui sont là, mais je vais aussi continuer ma lutte pour l'ouverture de l'espace politique au Rwanda ».
