Une soixantaine de Rwandais manifestent à Bruxelles pour la libération de V. Ingabire
(Belga) Une soixante de Rwandais ont manifesté samedi après-midi à Bruxelles, depuis le rond-point Montgomery jusqu'à l'ambassade du Rwanda, contre la condamnation de l'opposante Victoire Ingabire et ont exigé sa libération immédiate. Selon les manifestants, le régime du président rwandais Paul Kagame veut museler toute opposition.
Victoire Ingabire, âgée de 44 ans, est la figure de proue des Forces Démocratiques Unifiées (FDU-Inkingi). En 2010 et après 16 ans d'exil aux Pays-Bas, elle est revenue au Rwanda afin d'affronter Paul Kagame aux élections présidentielles. Mais peu après son retour, elle a été arrêtée pour "conspiration contre les autorités par le terrorisme et la guerre" et négation du génocide de 1994, et condamnée à huit ans de prison le 30 octobre 2012. Les Rwandais qui participaient à la manifestation de samedi voient dans sa condamnation une énième tentative du président Kagame de rendre toute opposition impossible. Ils exigent la libération de Victoire Ingabire et de tous les autres prisonniers politiques. Dans le même temps, ils appellent l'Union européenne, les Etats-Unis et la Russie à cesser de soutenir le régime du président Kagame. (STEVE TERRILL)
