Mr. President-Elect,

The Rwandan opposition political party, FDU-Inkingi, has learned your victory for the presidency of the United States of America for the coming 4 years.

On behalf of its Chairperson, Ms. Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza, who is currently imprisoned in Rwanda for trying to run for the Presidency of Rwanda, the FDU-Inkingi sends you its warmest congratulations.

FDU-Inkingi hopes that the lesson of democracy that the American people have given to the world would inspire other nations, especially those in the African Great Lakes region, and would make the American people the best ally for all people that are afflicted by dictatorships in their quest for peace and democracy.
