Yahawe umupadiri mu 1974, atorerwa kuba umwepiskopi taliki ya 2/1/1997  nk' umushumba wa Diyosezi gatolika ya Butare, wasimbuye Mgr Yohani Batista Gahamanyi.  Mgr Filipo Rukamba  ni umuhungu wabo wa Mgr Aloys Bigirumwami. Mu Kiliziya yamenyekanye nk' umupadiri ukunda Kiliziya, wanga akarengane, utamenyereye ibyo guhakirizwa . Avuga icyo atekereza atitaye kukumenya icyo abo batabyumva kimwe bamutekerezaho.

Muri iki gihe Musenyeri Filipo Rukamba ni umuyobozi w'Inama Nkuru y'Abepiskopi Gatolika mu Rwanda.

Imana yamutoye ikomeze imurinde, irengere u Rwanda n'Abanyarwanda.
