Et quel avenir pour la monnaie unique des Etats d'Afrique de l'Est en vogue ces derniers jours par le Rwanda? 

Do we also have to forget Rwanda's commonwealth membership?

Le ministre Uzziel Ndagijimana et le gouverneur John Rwangombwa

Le chef de l'État rwandais a récemment donné instruction au gouverneur de la banque centrale du Rwanda et au ministre des Finances et de la Planification économique d'étudier la possibilité de l'adoption du FCFA de l'Afrique centrale.

L'information a été relayée par la Fédération rwandaise du secteur privé qui espère tirer profit de la monnaie unique d'Afrique centrale et occidentale.

Le président Paul Kagame en a discuté avec le gouverneur John Rwangombwa et le ministre Uzziel Ndagijimana suite au CEO Africa Forum qui s'est tenu du 25 au 26 mars à Kigali.

Le Rwanda ne fait pas partie de la Communauté économique et monétaire de l'Afrique centrale (CEMAC) qui regroupe 5 anciennes colonies françaises et la Guinée-equatoriale.

Il y a quelques années, le Rwanda a réintégré la Communauté économique des états d'Afrique centrale (CEEAC) et il regarde d'un œil favorable l'approfondissement de ses relations avec l'espace centralafricain notamment en intégrant la zone du franc CFA.
