Attentat de 1994 au Rwanda, la piste française bientôt explorée?

Le juge d'instruction Marc Trévidic va demander la déclassification de documents des services secrets français concernant l'attentat de l'avion présidentiel rwandais, a révélé France Inter mardi 16 décembre.

Objectif : lancer des investigations sur les militaires et mercenaires français suspectés d'avoir été proches de Hutus extrémistes, eux-mêmes inquiétés pour leur implication dans l'attentat.
L'instruction autour de l'attentat ayant visé l'avion du président Habyarimana connaît peut-être un tournant. L'avocat de l'épouse du pilote français décédé le 6 avril 1994, date de déclenchement du génocide, aurait en effet demandé au juge Marc Trévidic d'obtenir la déclassification de documents actuellement entre les mains des autorités françaises. Et ce afin d'avoir une idée précise de ce que savait Paris sur les auteurs de l'attentat.

QUE SAVAIENT LES SERVICES SECRETS FRANÇAIS ?

L'objectif : savoir si des militaires ou des mercenaires français ont pu participer de près ou de loin à l'attentat. Pour ce faire, la DGSE (les services secrets français) et la direction du renseignement militaire (DRM), devraient toutes deux être sollicitées pour déclassifier certains documents. Reste à savoir s'il sera donné une suite favorable à cette demande.
Le ministère de la défense va saisir pour avis la Commission consultative du secret de la défense nationale (d'ici à deux mois) mais c'est ensuite au ministre de décider d'une éventuelle déclassification.

QUID DU 1ER RPIMA ?

Le juge Marc Trévidic compte par ailleurs entendre un chercheur ayant travaillé sur le rôle joué par certains militaires français liés aux extrémistes Hutus, suspectés d'avoir participé à l'attentat de Kigali. Selon France Inter, ce chercheur désignerait un membre du 1er RPIMa (régiment de parachutistes d'infanterie de marine)« comme un possible suspect dans l'attentat ».
